MULTISTAGE PRODUCTIONS is a�not-for-profit 501(c)(3)
organization that since 1987 has been committed to presenting a diverse program
of musical and theatrical productions. Unlike for-profit promoters, we often
present shows that we believe are artistically and culturally exciting, even
when we do not expect ticket sales to cover expenses.
We believe that we present the most exciting concert
series in the Boston area. This season is certainly no exception. Our programs
range from internationally-known performers such as Mercedes Sosa and Miriam
Makeba to little-known but outstanding performers. �We have introduced a number
of new artists �to the Boston area include folk-rocker Ani DiFranco, neo-traditional
country singer/songwriter Gillian Welch, singer/songwriter Susan Werner, harpist/singer-songwriter
Dee Carstensen, the Laura Love band, Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage
Choir, and Lila Downs from Mexico, the most exciting new voice in world music.
� Last fall we introudced to New England the extraordinary Peruvian artists,
Eva Ayll�n and Alex Acu�a, with "Los Hijos del Sol." We were honored to present
the East Coast premiere of the critically-acclaimed "Ronnie Gilbert Face to
Face with Mother Jones: The Most Dangerous Woman in America," at the Hasty Pudding
Theater. In the spring of 2002 we honored folk legend Rosalie Sorrels with a
concert that brought together an amazing array of artists, ranging from Jean
Ritchie to Loudon Wainwright III.
Where possible, we try to bring the artists we work with
into the community for educational programs. We arranged with the Cambridge
Women's Commission and Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School to invite Linda
Tillery to the high school for a workshop. Several hundred young students attended
the workshop and the next night they came to the concert at Sanders as our guests.
While Kate Clinton was in town for her week-long run at the Hasty Pudding, she
visited the Lincoln-Sudbury school district, where she spoke to the faculty
on gay awareness.
We believe that the performing arts can be a vehicle
for change. For this reason we make it part of our mission to collaborate with
groups that work for social justice. In the fall of 1997 we produced a very
successful concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Women's Center in
Cambridge, the largest event the Center had ever planned. That same year we
worked with Rosie's Place to help make a rousing success of their first Women's
Dance, featuring Lily Tomlin, Kate Clinton and Girls Night Out. In October of
1999 we produced an extraordinary benefit concert at Veterans Memorial Auditorium
in Providence, featuring Judy Collins, Holly Near and Ronnie Gilbert, Dar Williams,
and Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir, to celebrate the 25th anniversary
of the Rhode Island Women's Center. which shelters and advocates for abused
women and their children. In the fall of 2000 we produced a wonderful benefit
jazz concert for Community Works, a funding collaborative for community-based
social justice organizations in the Greater Boston area and in the spring of
2001 we worked with the Massachusetts NOW Foundation in their first night benefit
of Eve Ensler in The Vagina Monologues. Also in the spring of 2001 we produced
the 25th anniversary dance party for Sojourner: The Women's Forum. We have also
collaborated to present shows with the Women's Studies Programs at Boston College
and MIT and the Women's Center at Brown University.

for arts organizations, a combination of the virtual disappearance of public
funding for the arts and a significant drop in attendance at arts events. �We
are no exception -- your tax-deductible contribution will make it possible for
us to continue our work. We will be grateful for any amount you can afford,
but the following categories come with a small premium.

for up to four tickets for one concert - Public thanks in our programs.
$75.00 SUPPORTER: The above plus a CD of one of the artists
included in our season.
$100.00 DONOR: No service charge on telephone orders for as many as four tickets
for two concerts - A CD of one of the artists included in our season - Public
thanks in our programs.
$250.00 PATRON: All of the above plus a pair of tickets to one concert of your
choice.
$500.00 SPONSOR: All of the above plus a pair of tickets to two concerts of your
choice and an invitation to a reception with one of our artists.
$1,000 BENEFACTOR: All of the above plus a free pair of VIP seats for four concerts
of your choice, three CD's of artists that we present, named sponsorship of any
show of your choice, and lunch or dinner with one of the artists we present.
